Hi, I'm Kim!
Gravel Road Whimsy was born from a love of writing. I long abandoned writing when "real life" decided to take over. After a while, I believe we all go back to our roots and reconnect with things that give you joy. Writing and graphic design is that for me.
I grew up on a farm in rural southeast Alabama. As a child, I spent many years walking down a gravel road. I would spend hours exploring the land. One of my fondest memories was lying in a wheat field on a blanket reading a book. There was nothing but the wheat surrounding me and blue sky above. I would spend hours reading, usually finishing a book in a day. I craved the isolation and being able to completely immerse myself in the book.
Fast forward 30 years. To this day, I see a wheat field and want to go back to those days.
I started Gravel Road Whimsy as a way to go back to that little girl walking down the gravel road.
A way to get the thoughts on paper.
My books are a simple way to slow down, focus on the moment, and let your thoughts take you to wherever you want to be. To be whatever you want to be. To say whatever you want to say. A way to capture a moment that you can always return to as you reread the pages. I hope through my books, you can find your own new version of the person you were, once up a time.
Xoxo, Kim
